Baseball Heaven Field Specifications and Rules* Coaches: Be sure you are aware of all rules and rule changes. It is the coaches’ responsibility to be familiar with these rules. BBH reserves the right to amend these rules at any time for specific tournament play. American league Baseball Rules will be enforced with the following Exceptions. Ages 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u : - 9u - 46ft. pitching mound, 60ft bases
- 10u - 46ft pitching mound, 65 ft. bases
- 11u, 12u – 51ft. pitching mound 75ft. bases
- Leftfield line and rightfield line - 205ft.
- Centerfield - 230ft.
Ages 13u, 14u, 15u, 16u, 18u: - 60’ 6 pitching mound
- 90ft. bases
- Leftfield line and rightfield line - 310ft.
- Centerfield - 360ft. fields 2 & 3, 375ft. fields 1 & 4.
Baseball Heaven Rules and Regulations Rules Rev 1-2008 No player is permitted to participate in any playoff game or championship game unless he/she participates in 1 complete game during pool (a complete game can consist of 6 innings in multiplte games). This rule is for tournament play only for ages 9u thru 15u . Age 9u Division Little League rules apply with the exception of the above listed modifications. 9U Only: All Little League Rules apply. No advancement by the batter on a drop 3rd strike. Stealing home is permitted after the ball crosses the plate. In Field fly rule is in affect. MERCY RULE: 15 runs after 3 innings 10 runs after 4 innings
Ages 10u65ft., 11u , 12u division - American league rules apply with the exception of the listed modifications.
- Taking Infield: Pre game infield WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED IF TIME PERMITS.
- NO METAL CLEATS FOR THE 9 – 13 YEAR OLD DIVISION
- 6 inning games, with a 1 hour & 50 minute time limit used per game , including playoffs (unless both teams are tied)No inning may start after 1 hour & 50 minutes of play, no time limit in the championship game. If you start an inning before the time limit, you finish the entire inning.
2 extra hitters optional and may enter field of play. NOTE: If a hole in the line-up is created due to an injury, ejection or etc and no substitute is available. That spot in the order will be an automatic out when its turn comes up to bat. - A DH may be used for anyone in the line-up. (High School DH Rule)
- Bat restrictions: There are no bat restrictions,,if -3 are used they must be BESR certified.
- MERCY RULE: The following mercy rules are in effect for all games played in the 10 – 12 yr old divisions of the tournament.
- 15 runs after three inning
- 10 runs after four innings
- NOTE 1: Teams are to have the same amount of at bats up to the 4th inning mercy rule, all pool play games and playoff games apply.
- NOTE 2: A game will end when a team goes ahead by 10 runs or more, after the 4th inning of play. For example: If the visitors go ahead by 10 or more runs in the top of the 5th inning, that game will be considered a mercy rule and the home team will not bat in the bottom of the inning.
- Re-entry rules used for starters only:
- PLEASE NOTE: A starting pitcher who is removed as a
starter MAY NOT re-enter the game as a pitcher unless it is done in the same inning while on defense. A pitcher may change to another position only once during the same inning. The pitcher will not be allowed to assume a position other than a pitcher more than once in the same inning. (American League Rule 3.03)
Speed-up rule catcher (with 2 outs) the runner must be the last batter out or a player who hasn't entered the game. THIS RULE IS MANDATORY. NOTE: A player who has not entered the game yet and runs for the catcher is considered a substitute. - Force play slide rule: A player must slide or avoid contact on all force plays. Violating this rule results in an automatic double play on the runner and batter-runner and no other runners may advance.
- Must Slide Rule: When a play is being made on a runner by a fielder (holding
the ball or in the act of fielding the ball), that player must slide into the base. Failure to do so will result in an out of that runner. If a player fails to slide and makes contact with the defensive player (holding the ball or in the act of fielding the ball), that player may be subject to an ejection and suspension as well. NOTE: A defensive player MAY NOT stand on the base or in the base path without the ball. That's considered obstruction by the defensive player. (Obstruction is a judgment call by an umpire) - An official game is: 3 completed innings
- All on-deck batter MUST STAY in the bullpens.
- 1 warning (per pitcher) will be given for balks.
- Managers & Coaches: During your pre-game meeting with the umpires, the
manager of the team is to make himself recognized to the umpires. Umpires are to speak with MANAGERS ONLY during the game. NOTE: Only the TEAM MANAGER is allowed out on the field to talk with the umpire. - Any manager or coach removed from a game by an umpire must leave the area
immediately. NOTE: The manager or coach MUST BE out of sight & sound of the playing field. (Parking Lot). - If a game is tied at the end of the 6th inning, it shall be officially declared tied even if under the 1:50 time limit.
- N0T COVERED IN THE RULES: In the event any item is not covered in the rules, the tournament committee will make the fairest possible ruling and that ruling will be final!
- ONLY PLAYERS LISTED ON THE TEAMS ROSTER/WAIVER FORM ARE ALLOWED ON THE FIELD.
Ages 13u, 14u, 15u,16u,18u divisions- American league rules apply with the exception of the listed modifications.

2 hr. time limit (except championships).12u/90 1:50min , No inning may start after two hours or 1:50min for 12u90 of play. If you start an inning before the two hour time limit, you finish the entire inning.

Bat restrictions, -3 BESR Certified are MANDATORY in theses age groups. - MERCY RULE: The following mercy rules are in effect for all games played in the 13 – 18 yr old divisions of the tournament. 12u90 division follow 12u75 mercy rules.

The following pertains to all divisions:
1. Jewelry: No jewelry is to be worn (except for medical alerts jewelry) by any player on the baseball field. This includes the rubber wrist bands as well. Players will be asked to remove jewelry when seen. There are no exceptions to the jewelry rule. 2. Behavior Policy: All ejections are subject to suspension. Every ejection is reviewed separately by Baseball Heaven Management and the Head Umpire. FOUL LANGUAGE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. 3. A team may start with 8 players. When the 9th player arrives, he/she will be inserted into the bottom of the line-up. NOTE: If you start with 8 players, the 9th spot in the order IS NOT AN OUT!! 4. No kids and/or parents and/or non-roster players are allowed in the dugouts at ANYTIME. 5. Tournament Directors will be at each end of the complex throughout the tournament. Please utilize them for any information you need.6. Teams are to arrive at the complex 45 minutes before their scheduled start time. 7. All teams should be ready for play 15 minutes before their scheduled start time. (Tournament directors will advise you when you will start your game so you have time to warm up your starting pitchers.)8. All team players must be in complete matching uniforms. 9. f a team forfeits a game without notifying BBH within 24hrs. prior to their scheduled game the team will incur a $100.00 forfeit fee plus the cost of the 2 umpires assigned to the game(s). This fee must be paid prior to their next scheduled game or the team will not be permitted to play.10. Roster and waiver release forms must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the league season beginning or 1 week prior to the beginning of any tournament. Coaches will be required to check in with the tournament director to confirm that all paperwork has been submitted. No team will be permitted to participate until they have checked in with tournament director. 11. Roster Moves: Players can be added to a roster up to 50% of scheduled games, no player can be on 2 separate rosters in one age division but can be on a different age division’s roster. Player’s are frozen on their team’s roster that is submitted for the calendar year, any player that is requesting to move to another team during the calendar year must have their current team provide in writing to BBH a release for that player to move.12. Ineligible Player: If a player is deemed ineligible during a league game the coach will RECEIVE a 4 game suspension, the team WILL incur a forfeit for each game that player played in. If an ineligible player has participated in a playoff game and that game is challenged by the opposing team prior to the game ending, the coach will receive a one-year suspension from the league. If a team Forfeits a game in the tournament they cannot advance to the playoff rounds, this rule is in affect for all ages. 13. All teams MUST submit a copy of their certificate of insurance naming Baseball Heaven as additional insured. 14. No metal cleats for 9u thru 13u divisions. Tie-Breaker Rules: 1-Head to Head Competition 2-Runs Allowed 3-Run Differential 4-Coin Flip Note: If there is a three way tie, the first tie breaker would be Runs-Allowed, once the tie-breaker is broken you revert back to tie-breaker #1 , #2, #3, #4.
